  • Version 3.2

Getting Started

Welcome to the Actova documentation. This guide will walk you through setting up your environment, connecting to the Actova API, and deploying your first AI-powered solution. Whether you're a developer, data scientist, or business analyst, you'll find everything you need to get up and running quickly.

Actova provides a comprehensive suite of tools and APIs designed to integrate seamlessly with your existing infrastructure. Our platform supports RESTful APIs, WebSocket connections, and SDK libraries for Python, JavaScript, and Java.

Installation & Setup

Before you begin, ensure your development environment meets the minimum requirements. Actova supports all major operating systems and can be deployed on-premise or in the cloud.

  • Python 3.9+ or Node.js 18+ required.
  • API Key from your Actova Dashboard.
  • Minimum 8GB RAM for local model inference.
  • Docker (optional) for containerized deployments.

API Reference

The Actova API follows REST conventions and returns JSON responses. All endpoints require authentication via Bearer token. Below are the core endpoints available in the current release.

  • POST /api/v1/predict — Submit data for AI model prediction.
  • GET /api/v1/models — List all available AI models.
  • POST /api/v1/train — Start a custom model training job.
  • GET /api/v1/jobs/{id} — Check status of a training job.
  • DELETE /api/v1/models/{id} — Remove a deployed model.

Authentication

All API requests require a valid API key passed in the Authorization header. You can generate API keys from your Actova Dashboard under Settings > API Keys. Each key can be scoped to specific permissions and rate limits.

For enhanced security, we support OAuth 2.0 for enterprise integrations. Contact our support team to enable SSO and advanced authentication flows for your organization.

SDKs & Libraries

Actova provides official SDK libraries to accelerate your integration. Each SDK wraps the REST API with language-native methods, handles authentication, retries, and error handling out of the box.

  • Python SDK — pip install actova
  • JavaScript SDK — npm install @actova/sdk
  • Java SDK — Available via Maven Central.

Webhooks & Events

Actova supports real-time event notifications via webhooks. Configure webhook endpoints in your Dashboard to receive notifications for model training completion, prediction results, system alerts, and usage threshold warnings.

Each webhook payload includes a cryptographic signature that you can verify to ensure the request originated from Actova. Our retry policy automatically resends failed deliveries up to 5 times with exponential backoff.

Rate Limits & Usage

API rate limits vary by plan. Free-tier accounts are limited to 100 requests per minute, while Enterprise plans support up to 10,000 requests per minute with burst capabilities. Monitor your usage in real-time through the Actova Dashboard or via the usage API endpoint.

  • Free Tier: 100 req/min, 1,000 predictions/day.
  • Pro Tier: 1,000 req/min, 50,000 predictions/day.
  • Enterprise: 10,000 req/min, unlimited predictions.

Support & Community

Common Questions
About Integration

How do I authenticate API requests?

All API requests require a Bearer token in the Authorization header. Generate your API key from the Actova Dashboard under Settings > API Keys. Include it as: Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY.

What data formats does the API accept?

The Actova API accepts JSON payloads for all endpoints. For file uploads (datasets, images), use multipart/form-data. Response format is always JSON with consistent error handling structures.

Can I use Actova in a serverless environment?

Yes, Actova is fully compatible with serverless architectures including AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Functions, and Azure Functions. Our lightweight SDK libraries are optimized for cold-start performance.

How do I handle API errors?

All error responses follow a standard format with an error code, message, and request ID. Our SDKs include built-in retry logic with exponential backoff for transient errors (5xx responses).
